Our client is a very successful and innovative multinational company, headquartered in Europe – and a leader in their field of expertise and products. It delivers products and services for building infrastructure and their solutions are both based on traditions and craftmanship as well as development for the future including digitalization of processes in the delivery, the products and the continued maintenance. The Danish company has approx.. 100 employees and are headquartered in Greater Copenhagen. There is an expectation for growth based on the perception of the market and the potential of bringing the organization and market approach to the next level.

Business Unit Manager, Installation

As a Business Unit Manager, Installation, you’re part of the Executive management team of the Danish company and responsible for the commercial and operational success of the Business Unit. This includes P&L responsibility, managing a professional organization delivering vital parts of a building infrastructure and working towards and together with developers, architects, consultants and construction companies. The organization is responsible for both project sales as well as implementation/installation through own team of project managers and subcontractors. Your role will be very varied, and you will lead the development focusing on both strategic and operational excellence and on taking the organization to the next level.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following

  • Develop strategy needed to achieve agreed targets fulfilling the expected potential
  • Adapt and secure the execution on functional or departmental business plans and contribute to the development of organizational strategies.
  • Anticipate internal and/or external business challenges/safety/regulatory issues.
  • Support the fulfilment of the company vision for prompt and professional client interaction through motivation and leadership.
  • Oversee overall implementation and operational aspects of the client relationship
  • Secure the setup and delivery of projects
  • Build effective liaisons to manage the transition from installation/implementation to ongoing client delivery/services
  • Build a cohesive team by championing quality, integrating team efforts through status meetings, sharing appropriate information, and building depth of expertise.

Requirements

We expect that you have a great business acumen and experience from managing an organization of both sales and operation/project management in the construction business.

  • Experience from managing people in the construction industry
  • Ability to coach and build up an organisation for the future
  • Experience from change management and strategic implementation
  • Great networker and relationship builder within the many stakeholders and customers, including developers, architects, consultants and construction companies
  • Relevant education, minimum bachelor or master’s degree (Technical, Business Administration or similar) from University or Business College

Characteristics

The targeted candidate is active and self-going, has a high-energy level and is pragmatic and hands-on with readiness to go the extra mile. It is important that the person is a modern leader with organizational and motivational skills for future development of the company, the team and her-/himself. S/he has own opinions to give valuable input to develop the business and is open minded.

As mentioned, the person in question also has a good sales/commercial orientation with focus on and experience from improving and developing the operational performance of the business.

The ideal candidate can work with different stakeholders and collaborate to achieve the desired results. It is important that s/he has good communication and presentation skills. The person should also have an international mindset.
